Etz Chaim It is great that this book has been translated - BoruchHashem! Having said this, I question why this book has taken priority over Etz Chaim - the 1st book? Are there any efforts in translating this book? I understand that "Apples from the Orchard" has been re-printed; however, having an opportunity (God wiling!) to read the actual complete work of the Holy Ari (with an Orthodox explanation would be a plus!) as an English translation by the Conservative folks is available... sEEKING a female PERSPECTIVE I have been reading this book since Sukkot and am confused as to the truth pertaining to women. Ie. Can you explain the parts of soul with gender. I somewhat understand the general statement about women not reincarnating, but one of the Ari hakadosh's reasons as being that we are not under the obligation to learn torah is not really clear in that we do have to learn many of the mitzvot and do them (kashrut, nidddah,chalah,nerot,etc.etc.)
I am certain that there is so much more to my feeble attempt at understanding any of this but have not found anyone locally to learn it with. Can you suggest a woman perhaps who is interested in learning the sefer as it relates to women? Reply
