* Welcome to our special LAG B'OMER - ZOHAR edition. This year, Lag b'Omer starts on Thursday night, May 15, and continues until Shabbat takes over. Articles 1-2, 5-7 offer different levels of Kabbalistic insights, mostly based on the Zohar, into this special occasion;
* The seven Weeks of Counting Omer are connected to the Seven Divine Attributes, as are the seven days of each of those weeks. Lag b'Omer is strongly infused with the fifth attribute, HOD, because Lag b'Omer falls on the fifth day of the fifth week, when we enumerate: "Hod of Hod." Appropriately, this is the subject of article #5!
* The little known biblical holy day of Pesach Sheini, which occurs on the 14th of the Jewish month of Iyar (Monday of this week), is the subject of article #3. Hope you saved some matza!
* The 4th article connects to the 4th chapter of Pirkei Avot ("Major Sayings of the Sages"), which we study on the six afternoons between the festivals of Pesach and Shavuot.
* The Torah reading of Emor is the subject of article #6.
