This is the first full week of Adar, the Jewish "Merry Month of Mazal", which began last Shabbat - see articles #1-2.
The name of this week's reading, "Terumah," refers to the donations of materials for building the Sanctuary. Today the word is used, like "tzedaka," to refer to all giving to worthy Jewish causes(article 5).
