A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
This Shabbat, the first after Tisha B'Av, is special; it is known as the 'Shabbat of Consolation', after the first words of the Haftorah: "Nachamu, Nachamu, Ammi" [Comforted, be comforted, My people."
In addition, there is a not-so-well known holiday that falls this week, when the single Jewish women used to dance and sing together in the fields. (Lead article) Article #3 is from our translation of a book, Tuv HaAretz, devoted to Kabbalah teachings about the Holy Land of Israel. Spectacularly, the Weekly Reading contains both the first paragraph of Judaism's primary prayer, Shema Yisrael (articles #2, 5, 7), as well as a repetition of the Ten Commandments (#5, #6). |
