A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
"Emor" sounds a bit like "Omer" and indeed, this week's reading contains
the source verses for the mitzvah of Counting the Omer, which we are in the midst of now (see article #3).
The 2nd article is for the third chapter of Pirkei Avot, which will study this Shabbat afternoon. The story (#7) — an extraordinary one — is from KOL's managing editor's first book, "Saturday Night, Full Moon." Available for purchase here. Finally, the lead article, sourced in primary Kabbalah texts, should also get you into the mood for next week's "Kabbalah" holiday, Lag b'Omer. (Those of you in ISRAEL should click to BEHAR for articles on the Weekly Reading there.) |
