A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
It is in this week's Torah Reading, Bo, which relates all the events
immediately prior to the Exodus, that we find the first mention of
Mezuzahs on doorposts - -
see the lead article for an interesting analysis of a modern question on mezuzahs from one of the leading teachers of Kabbalah in our generation. Bo also contains two of the four biblical texts that are inscribed in tefillin - - see article #6 by a leading Kabbalist in Jerusalem that passed away last year who was also a Chasidic Rebbe. Saturday night-Sunday, 4 Shevat, is the yahrzeit of Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzira, or the “ Baba Sali,” as he was affectionately known throughout the Jewish world. Tens of thousands of people are expected to converge at his resting place in Netivot this week — see the story (#7). A mystical insight into the month of Shevat based on the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe is the subject of article #3. |
