A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
This week's reading, Balak, contains some of the main source verses for the final Messianic redemption, writes the Rambam (Maimonides).
Therefore, the first five articles provide information on this major topic, with two of them repeats from the week before. Dedication
In memory and appreciation of Rabbi MORDECHAI-TZEMEK ELIYAHU,
who left this world two weeks ago, at age 81. Rabbi Eliyahu was one of the leading sages in the state of Israel in the last sixty years, a major judge of Jewish law for the Sephardic communities, a former chief rabbi of Israel and --not so publicly known-- an accomplished Kabbalist. The staff of Kabbala Online and of Ascent-of-Safed especially wishes to extend blessings of condolence to his son, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, who we know from his two decades of service as chief Rabbi of Safed, and his active and enthusiastic participation in many Ascent outreach activities. |
