The longing of the Supernal realm to this place [of malchut] is like a male [Zeir Anpin] whose longing [to give supernal flow] is always toward the female [malchut]. Therefore, when the King [Zeir Anpin with the mentality of Imma], comes to the Matron [malchut] and finds Her sad [with the pain aroused Above], he gives over to Her hands whatever She desires. That person or that prayer do not return empty, and the G‑d has mercy on him [the Shechinah "feels" his pain]. Blessed is the portion of that person who pours out tears before G‑d in his prayer [and is elevated wondrously from his distress].

It is similar on Shabbat. There is one who fasts on Shabbat and expresses sadness because of his pain, yet during Shabbat that supernal firmament [of bina]appears with joy and causes everyone to rejoice. As for that one who is in sadness, once this [bina] dominates [on Shabbat and sees that man is sad and asks why he is like this while the King is rejoicing, then], it revokes that punishment that was deemed against that person.

We have already learned this. "Extol..." (Psalms 68:5) [means] to give honor and exaltation to He who rides on the clouds, for He is joy and causes joy for everyone and He is the firmament which is above the celestial living creatures. "K-ah is His Name." (Psalms 68:5) Certainly [bina, which is the Name K-ah], because in this place is this Name included. "And rejoice before him," meaning [to access the bina one must] not expresses sadness before Him, as explained.

BeRahamim LeHayyim: What does the above mean to you and why is it being revealed to you now?

Serve G‑d with joy! (Psalm 100) Easier said than done. And we are supposed to cry tears for the exile of the Shechinah with joy? But is that not a contradiction? No, not at all. For those most connected sense that when they are crying, there is joy in that G‑d is listening.

Let's say that again.

G‑d is listening. That the Omnipotent/Omnipresent Eternal Force of Creation is also the Imminent One, standing right outside of mouth to hear your heartfelt prayers, is joyfully encouraging!

Moreover, on Shabbat, "grief and sighs flee." (Cf. Isaiah 51:11) It is a day of all joy, a day where outward mourning is banished. A day in which all those who are in joy are forgiven of their transgression but if and only if their return is complete and sincere.
