A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
IMPORTANT: We in Israel already read the Torah section Korach this past Shabbat, so this week in Israel we are studying the section called CHUKAT, as below.
For those of you outside of Israel who wish, here is the link to our Korach index page. ============================================== * This Wednesday night - Thursday (3 Tammuz) coincides with the 32nd Histalkus of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, a profound student and teacher of Kabbalah, in additional to his many better known accomplishments; a pair of teachings from him on life in the Era of Mashiach are in the first two articles, and three more (#5-7) are from him (Chukat, Avot) or about him (Story), respectively. * A much older anniversary (2475 years!) occurs two days later on Shabbat. The 5th of Tammuz is the date the prophet Ezekiel had his famous prophetic vision of the "Divine Chariot," which we read as the Haftorah portion on Shavuot and upon which certain areas of study in Kabbalah are based. Article #3 presents what was considered a prerequisite for prophecy according to the Rambam ('Maimonides') * The 6th article is for the fifth chapter of Pirkei Avot, for those who continue to study it on Shabbat afternoons throughout the summer. Dedication
May all the seeds planted by the Lubavitcher Rebbe continue to grow and to flourish, and may they have their intended effect.
