A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
This Shabbat, in synagogue, we will hear the reading of:
(1) the weekly Torah Portion of Vayakel (articles 2-3), (2) the weekly Torah Portion of Pekudei (articles 4-5), plus one (article #6) for the significance of them being combined. (3) the special annual supplementary reading of HaChodesh (our lead article), which includes much information about the approach to Pesach (Passover) is read in a second scroll, and (4) the blessings for the New Moon of Nissan and (5) the exciting unified shout "Hazak!" for completing publicly one of the Five Books of Moses. Article #2, from the Zohar, extols the spiritual virtues and joy of Shabbat, which is related to how Vayakhel begins (Ex. 35:1-3). |
