A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
We are now starting the fourth book of the Torah, Bamidbar, which is also the name of this week's Torah Reading. The name means "in the desert," although many refer to it as "Book of Numbers."
Often this Reading gets ignored in this weekly magazine because it comes a day or two before theShavuotfestival. This year not though, so we feature 3 interesting articles on it (4-6), including one from the teachings of the Holy Ari of Tzefat. The 3rd article is from the sixth chapter forPirkei Avot, which was added by our sages to the original five of the Mishna, in order that it always be studied on the Shabbat before theShavuotfestival, when we received the Torah at Mt. Sinai. The first two articles are pure Kabbalah. Next week: special Shavuot issue Dedication
In memory of
Rabbi Aharon-Yechiel Leifer, the previous Nadvorna Rebbe of Tsfat, who passed away on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, 23 years ago. |
