A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
We are often asked about Zohar translations. One of the most impressive yet least known is the e-book by R. Peretz Auerbach of the Old City of Jerusalem. Its opening section constitutes this week's 2nd article.
For the last five weeks, Israel and the Diaspora have been out of sync, with different weekly readings, due to the differing lengths of the respective Passover celebrations. This week we are all reading Bechukotai, whether singly or preceded by Behar. Therefore we will celebrate the reunification in this edition by having two insights for the shared part of the Weekly Reading (articles #5-6), with only the (very interesting!) story designated for Behar. Behukotai is also an annual signal that the anniversary of "Torah at Sinai" day is on the horizon; next week already will be our special Shavuot issue. The 4th article is for the 5th week of studying Pirkei Avot [Ethics of the Fathers] on Saturday afternoons. It is by the famed Sephardic scholar, the Ben Ish Hai, and is accurately titled "Jewish Acupuncture"! (Those of you in Israel should click to Parashat Bechukotai for articles on the Weekly Reading there.) |
