A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
Welcome to our special Simchat Torah - Shabbat Bereshit issue.
A momentous week! One article each for Hoshana Rabba (Tuesday night-Wednesday), Shemini Atzeret (Wednesday night-Thursday), Simchat Torah (same as Shemini Atzeret in Israel; Thursday night Friday elsewhere) on which we complete the 3289th cycle of Torah readings; and three for the Reading of Bereshit/"In the Beginning G‑d created..." on Shabbat, with which we start the 3290th cycle. The middle article is a mystical analysis of Saturday night in Judaism, by the popular R. Meir Abuhatzeira of blessed memory. Dedication
"Out with the old year and its curses! In with the new year and its blessings."
