A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
After the reading of Mishpatim this week, an additional section about the half-shekel is also read — see article #6.
The long discourses in the Zohar about the Jewish doctrine of reincarnation evolve from this week's Torah reading (article #5). Dedication
for the soul elevation of Chana bat Asher Siev on the occasion of her 8th yahrzeit on 18h Shevat (2/14/17) and for the soul elevation of Chana bat Nachum-Eliyahu Tornek on the occasion of her 4th yahrzeit on 17th Shevat (2/13/17) AND for the soul elevation of Rabbi Shlomo-Yitzchak ben Moshe Schwartz who passed on to his eternal reward on 12th Shevat 5777 (Feb. 8, 2017) less than two months past his 71st birthday. "Schwartzie" was one of the most influential rabbis in the USA who brought thousands – yes, thousands! – of Jews closer to Torah life and was an untiring warrior in the struggle against intermarriage and assimilation. He was also Scholar-in-Residence at Ascent in Tsfat for 20 consecutive summers. |
