A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
In many places, Lag B'Omer
(Saturday-night-Sunday) is 'picnic day,' 'bonfire night, 'outing day' and so
forth.
In Israel it is primarily "Zohar Day," with 150,000 people making the pilgrimage to Meron and the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, the source of the Zohar teachings. The last four articles examine different aspects of this important occasion. The lead article (from the Zohar!) is for "Pesach Sheni" (Wednesday) the Torah's most overlooked holiday! The following two are for the Torah Reading (also from the Zohar!), and for our continuing Pirkei Avot series (from the Ben Ish Hai) Dedication
head of the Safed-Chabad community from its modern inception with his arrival in 1973 until his tragic untimely death twenty-five years later On the occasion of his 15th yahrzeit this Friday, 16 Iyar |
