A note from the staff of Kabbalah Online in Tzefat
30 Nisan (Wednesday, April 14), is the yahrzeit of one of the most important Kabbalists of the modern era,
Rabbi Chayim Vital (see first three articles), the only one permitted to record in writing the teachings of the Holy Ari of Safed (Rabbi Yitchak Luria). We read two portions this week; a common theme that bonds them is an unusual spiritual affliction that manifested as a skin eruption (see next-to-last article). Between Pesach and Shavuot we "Count the Omer" - see article #4. After that is an article for the second chapter of Pirkei Avot (as explained last week). Dedication
In honor of the yahrzeit on Wednesday, 30 Nissan, of Rabbi Chaim Vital, (see first 2/3 articles).
And the birthdate on Friday, 2 Iyar - Tiferet sh'b'Tiferet - of the "Rebbe Maharash" and also in memory of Feiga bat Yerachmiel ("Aunt Frances" Hirsch), whose yahrzeit falls also on 2 Iyar. |
