This Shabbat, in synagogue, we will have:
(1) The reading/singing of the Hallel prayer in honor of Rosh Chodesh;
(2) the weekly Torah Portion of Vayikra, which opens Book 3 of the Torah, read from Torah scroll #1;
(3) The section about the Rosh Chodesh offerings in the Temple, read from Torah scroll #2
(4) the special supplementary reading of HaChodesh in honor of Rosh Chodesh Nissan and the upcoming Pesach holiday, read from Torah scroll #3 (a rare occurrence!);
(5) the special Musaf prayer for Rosh Chodesh and Shabbat combined.

The first two articles provide a set of fascinating insights into the significance of the opening of the special HaChodesh reading,
while the 3rd examines deeply the significance of Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh falling together;
the 4th article is a mystical explanation of the "Sanctification of the Moon" outdoor prayer.
The next two offer Kabbalah layers of interpretation for the sacrifices, the main subject in this week's reading, and indeed of most of the Book.
Finally, the story, which also has yet another interesting tidbit to teach us about Rosh Chodesh.
